I'm a Program Manager with 7 years of experience designing, prototyping, and testing accessible STEM learning tools.
I thrive at the intersection of engineering, education, and human-centered design.
Full-Stack Learning Product R&D
GoGo Board Robotics
& Sensing Toolkit
My Role:
Program Manager, Kit Designer UI/UX Designer, Curriculum Developer
The Challenge:
To co-design and implement the next-generation robotics and scientific sensing kit, web app, and curriculum for K-12 learners.
Key Outcomes & Skills:
R&D:
Led classroom implementations and user testing to refine hardware and web app UI/UX based on student and teacher feedback.
Hardware Design:
Led rapid prototyping and pilot testing of laser-cut hardware toolkits for middle / high school STEM.
Collaboration:
Partnered with a multi-national team to coordinate development and manufacturing.
Co-Designing Accessible Inquiry
Science Messaging System
My Role:
Program Manager, Learning Designer, Researcher
The Challenge:
To support low-cost, at-home, inquiry-driven science learning
Key Outcomes & Skills:
R&D:
Conducted pilot testing and design interviews with kids and parents for feedback on the texting interface, activity design and scripting
Curriculum Design:
Developed NGSS- aligned inquiry activities and text scripts for at-home science exploration
Co-design with teachers:
Collaborated with a teacher for students with dyslexia on activity design and focus group protocols
Learner-Centered Lesson Design
Boys & Girls Club Data Science Pilot Program
My Role:
Workshop Designer, Facilitator
The Challenge:
To design engaging data science learning experiences for middle schoolers at the Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula (East Palo Alto, summer 2023).
Key Outcomes & Skills:
STEM Curriculum Design:
Developed and taught a hands-on data science summer program. Designed activities to introduce novel STEM tools while maximizing students’ data exploration from their club environment and personal experiences
Collaboration:
Directly partnered with Boys & Girls Club staff in East Palo Alto to define workshop goals and pedagogical approaches.
Product Design & Manufacturing
Spiro-Gear Mechanical Drawing Toy
My Role:
Mechanical Design Engineer, Machinist
The Challenge:
To create a playful, low-cost, and easily manufacturable drawing toy.
Key Outcomes & Skills:
Design for Manufacturability:
incorporated process-specific design considerations for CNC machining, plastic injection molding and ease of assembly
3D CAD and Simulation:
mechanical gear generation, mold modeling, and plastic fill simulation
Smart Product Development
RXgo
Smart Pill Organizer
My Role:
Mechatronics Engineer
The Challenge:
To prototype a persuasive and portable device to address medication non-adherence.
Key Outcomes & Skills:
Smart Product Design:
We designed a pill case that provides gentle haptic, audio, and visual reminders for medication times, and is outfitted with sensors that can detect if pills are taken.
User-Centered Design:
We interviewed and observed regular prescription takers to understand how usual medication adherence methods fall short
Mechatronics Engineering:
3D printing and CAD, PCB design, microcontroller programming (Arduino)
